Mark Martin began tournament fishing in 1983 – winning the first event he entered – and later won the inaugural Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) Tournament of Champions in 1990. He went on to qualify for 18 total PWT World Championships and to date, has fished in more than 200 tournaments, finishing in the top ten 47 times.

Among his other accomplishments, Martin was inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 2014, has authored two books and is part-owner of the AIM walleye tournament fishing circuit.

Martin also hosts his own series of ice-fishing and open water fishing vacation schools across various Michigan destinations and collaborates with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for other education initiatives.
